2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian and Paralympian Pro-Am Relay

The USA Triathlon Foundation is partnering with Ready, Set, Gold! to host the 2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian and Paralympian Pro-Am Relay!

2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian Pro-Am Relay


The 2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon will be the home of the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Triathlon events. Join in on the excitement of the Olympics and Paralympics and race on a relay team with an Olympian or Paralympian as part of the 2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian and Paralympian Pro-Am Relay.

This year’s roster of Olympians and Paralympians includes (subject to change):

  • Samantha Bosco, cycling (2016) – two-time Paralympic medalist
  • Allen James, race walking (1992, 1996)
  • Michellie Jones, triathlon (2000, 2016) – Olympic medalist and Paralympic medalist as a guide
  • Barb Lindquist, triathlon (2004)
  • Joe Maloy, triathlon (2016)
  • Giddeon Massie, track cycling (2004, 2008)
  • John Moffet, swimming (1984)
  • John Naber, swimming (1976) – five-time Olympic medalist
  • Andy Potts, triathlon (2004)

Each Olympian and Paralympian will be paired with two age group athletes to form a relay team and compete in the Toyota Legacy Sprint Triathlon Relay event. This Pro-Am relay benefits the USA Triathlon Foundation and the LA Sports Council’s Ready, Set, Gold! program. There are LIMITED spots available for this opportunity. Age Group athletes can register for the 2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian and Paralympian Pro-Am Relay event by making a $2,500 donation to the USA Triathlon Foundation. 

Olympians from the 2021 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Pro-Am Relay event included: 2016 Olympian Joe Maloy, 2004 and 2008 Olympian Giddeon Massie, 2004 Olympians Andy Potts and Barb Linquest, 2000 Olympian Michellie Jones, 1992 and 1996 Olympian Allen James, 1984 Olympian John Moffet, and 1976 Olympian John Naber. 


2022 Toyota Legacy Triathlon Olympian Pro-Am Relay participants will receive:  

  • Complimentary VIP race entry to the Legacy Triathlon 
  • Custom gear for you and your relay team
  • Complimentary race day VIP and parking
  • Photo and Q&A opportunities with elite athletes

For a $2,500 donation to the USA Triathlon Foundation, you’ll have a once in a lifetime opportunity to race alongside of Olympians to help make a different in getting kids to lead a healthy and active lifestyle through sports. Proceeds for the Olympic Pro-Am event will benefit the USA Triathlon Foundation and Ready Set Gold!
