Role with the USA Triathlon Foundation:  Past Chair of the Board of Trustees

Why are you involved with the USA Triathlon Foundation: I became involved in the sport on a bet with a former roommate; he did two triathlons and stopped; I kept going. I’m excited with the privilege of working with such a dedicated group of volunteers, both within the Foundation, and within the many organizations it supports, and mostly to give back to the sport and community that has become such a critical part of my life. The USA Triathlon Foundation combines two of my most fierce passions – love of the sport, and the ability to impact the lives of youth.

Athletic Background: Stephen became an athlete as an adult. He began triathlon in 1985 and took a brief break while competing at the national level in singles and doubles squash. He then returned to triathlon in 1998 and never looked back. He has completed over 100 triathlons including two IRONMAN races. He was named a USA Triathlon All-American in 2014 and was a member of Team USA at the ITU Long Course World Championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
