John Cassimatis

Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Finance and accounting from Lehigh University 

Career: Currently Managing Director and advisor to Grant Thornton. Over 35 years of experience in advising companies on strategy, operational improvements, and business transformation primarily within the Life Science Sector. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he was co-founder and President of TayganPoint Consulting, a leading regional management consulting firm, which was acquired by Grant Thornton in 2018.

Why are you involved with the foundation: Triathlons have had a positive impact on my life and through the Foundation I can give back and help others experience the positive impact that triathlons and the multisport lifestyle can have on their lives.

Athletic background: John was a high school cross country champion, college cross country and track runner. After college he ran for the New York Athletic Club in several New York City and Boston marathons (best time 2:34). John starting to get involved with triathlons in 1983 and more recently he has qualified and competed in the USA Triathlon Olympic-distance National Championship the last nine years and is a member of the 2022 Team USA. He also has competed in multiple IRONMAN full distance and 70.3 triathlons and competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in South Africa in 2018.
